PRIME MINISTER SOYER: “I CAN NOT SAY THAT THE MEETING WAS FRUITFUL”

Head of the Republican Turkish Party CTP and the Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer said that the meeting between President Mehmet Ali Talat and the Leader of Greek Cypriot Administration Dimitris Hristofyas was not a fruitful one. Indicating that there was no result at the end of the meeting which was planned with the aim of starting the process of comprehensive solution due to the fact that the Greek Cypriot Administration declared that it was not ready Soyer said: “if the process of comprehensive solution in September shall not be on the agenda of the meeting which shall be held on 25 July, Greek Cypriot Administration shall be the responsible for the un-solution like Papadopoulos.

Indicating that Archbishop Hrisostomos made a statement before the meeting and said: “Division is better than a Federal Solution, we prefer division.”, Soyer said that no union, non-governmental organization or political party criticized this statement except Hristofias and AKEL. Pointing out that in spite of the fact that Papadopoulos is not there, the policy of spending time was going on in South and the government of Hristofias was not opposing this policy. On the other hand “Kıbrıs” newspaper wrote that at the meeting Talat and Hristofias agreed on starting the comprehensive negotiations on 1 September however they shall declare this decision on 25 July.
