TALAT ARRIVES TO BRUSSELS

Turkish Cypriot President Mehmet Ali Talat has began his contacts in his arrival to Brussels upon the invitation of European Union Periodic President and Slovenian Foreign Affairs Minister Dimtrij Rupel.

President Talat firstly met with Slovakian Foreign Affairs Minister Jan Kubis in the afternoon. According to an announcement from the Presidency, European Union relations and recent developments of the Cyprus problem were discussed within the meeting. Preceding his first meeting, Talat later met with French Minister for EU Affairs, Jean Pierre Jouyet. Both meetings had taken place at the hotel of where the President was staying.

President Talat will today morning meet with Slovenian Foreign Affairs Minister Dimtrij Rupel. Talat will then meet with Higher Representative for European Union Joint Security and Foreign Policy, Javier Solana.

DISI PRESIDENT WILL TODAY VISIT UBP

Accompanied with his delegation, Opposition leader Greek Cypriot Democratic Movement Party (DISI) President Nikos Anastiades will today visit the Turkish Cypriot main opposition National Union Party (UBP).

According to information provided by the UBP Press Bureau, the visit will take place at 10:30 within the building situated on Mehmet Akif Avenue where the General Presidency of the UBP is located.
