“Rule of Law v. Reason of State”

Presentation of the written proceedings of the Brussels Conference

Rule of Law v. Reason of State”

On 22 October 2014, the Written Proceedings of the Conference held in February in Brussels “Rule of Law v Reason of State” will be presented at the House of Commons in London. After ten years of campaigning mainly at the European Parliament and in Italy, the Nonviolent Radical Party together with No Peace Without Justice is returning to London, to the roots of their campaign, to take the next step aimed at restoring trust in democracy and the Rule of Law.

To do so, it is crucial that one of the oldest democratic countries, such as the United Kingdom, be actively involved. Therefore, the presentation will also serve as a springboard for the launch of a second Brussels Conference which will discuss how to improve the relationship between Governments and the public, through the possible creation of a universal Human Right to Know.

The presentation will be held at Portcullis House, in the Grimond Room from 9:30 to 11:30, under the auspices of the Rt Hon Norman BAKER MP, Home Office Minister who has been paying significant attention over the years to the Iraq Inquiry and to the consequences of the Iraq war. Participants include: Dr Owen THOMAS, Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at the University of Exeter, Stephen PLOWDEN, a retired private British citizen who filed a request under the Freedom of Information, Marco PERDUCA, former Senator with the Nonviolent Radical Party transnational and transparty (NRPTT), Niccolò FIGA’-TALAMANCA, Secretary-General of No Peace Without Justice (NPWJ) and Marco PANNELLA, Leader of the NRPTT.
