PM Soyer Receives German MP Jurgen Walter

Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer, received German Social Democratic Party Hessen State MP Jurgen Walter.

Speaking at the meeting , Mr Walter stated that, the present election periods both in the TRNC and Germany, made the meeting more meaningful either in terms of the relations of the two countries or the relations of the two political parties.

Saying that they had closely followed the Cyprus negotiations and were aware of the fact that “the Cyprus conflict is a bleeding wound in Europe” German MP Walter wished the negotiations to bring a lasting solution.

Underlining the high importance of the opening of the North Cyprus ports to direct use,he contunied saying “ we support and will continue to support you in the struggle of ending the isolations.”

Welcoming the German mp, PM Soyer reported that, in spite of all the obstructions and difficulties, the Hessen state had managed to realize the first contacts that supported the development of Turkish Cypriot foreign relations and thus had shown an important example of courage by supporting the Turkish Cypriot attemps of integrating with the world .

PM Soyer also added that, the balanced resolution on the Cyprus issue, which has been passed by the German Parliament with the support of the Social Democrats, the Christian Democrats and the Greens, played an important role in the promotion of the relations between the TRNC and Germany.
