BRITISH MISNISTER FLINT PRAISES THE TWO LEADERS FOR THEIR EFFORTS TOWARDS A SOLUTION
Britain has expressed support to the ongoing negotiations process in Cyprus .
The British Minister for European Affairs Caroline Flint described the negotiations process launched by the two leaders in Cyprus as the most significant opportunity in the way for a solution. Mrs. Flint was speaking at a reception given by Britain ’s former Cyprus Special Representative and current Labor Party MP for Enfield , Joan Ryan in honor of the Federation of the Turkish Associations in the UK .
In her address to the gathering, Caroline Flint pointed to the importance of the talks being carried out between the two leaders and said that talks are moving forward in a positive course. ‘But we will have more difficult and sensitive issues to deal with. These include very important problems coming from the past as much as economic and social problems’ she added. She also praised Mr. Talat and Mr. Christofias for their efforts towards making progress in the negotiations process. Noting that impressions she get has encouraged her, the British Minister said efforts by the two leaders has created a unique opportunity for the unification of the island.
Calling on the Turkish Cypriots attended the reception to give their support to the negotiations process, Mrs Flint said a possible comprehensive solution to be found in Cyprus will be beneficial for all Cypriots.

THE PRESIDENTIAL SPOKESPERSON HAS REMINDED: COLLOCUTOR FOR A “CYPRIOT SOLUTION” IS PRESIDENT MEHMET ALI TALAT
The Presidential spokesperson has reminded the Greek Cypriot Leader Demetris Christofias that his collocutor for a “Cypriot solution” is President Mehmet Ali Talat.Hasan Erçakıca’s comments came as the Greek Cypriot Leader Dimitris Christofias is to sign a declaration with Russia that includes the Cyprus problem.
Speaking at his weekly press briefing, Hasan Erçakıca called on the Greek Cypriot Leader to stop trying to change the principles jointly agreed for a solution in Cyprus .
“The Greek Cypriot Leader Dimitris Christofias should end his efforts in the international arena and stop trying to reshape the principles agreed by the two leaders” he said.
“We want to warn the officials of the Russian Federation on the issue”, he said, adding that Christofias’ collocutor is President Talat.
On the negotiation process, Mr Erçakıca announced that the two leaders will have six more meetings until the end of the year.
