CYPRUS FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION PREPARING A DRAFT PROPOSAL
Head of the Cyprus Turkish Football Association (CTFA) Omer Adal said that they were continuing their studies in order to reply to the proposals made by the FIFA.
Adal stated that he presented the proposal to the Administrative Board and it is accepted by the Board. Omer Adal underlined that the news in the Greek Cypriot Press about the issue that CTFA will participate in the Greek Cypriot Football Association was their own comment.
Adal stated that the main target of the CTFA is to lift the isolations on the Cyprus Turkish Football and the integration of Turkish Cypriot football to the European and Worldwide football and added that the FIFA was helping them for this target and the proposals were the results of these studies.
However Adal stated that acceptance of these proposals was unfavorable therefore this had to be evaluated sensitively and added ‘we do not have the right to cause an incident which shall harm the rights of the Turkish Cypriots gained in 1960 Constitution and the equality of the Turkish Cypriots in return for a financial support from the FIFA.”
