POLITICAL PARTIES DECIDE TO PROVIDE SUPPORT WITHIN ACCORDANCE TO JOINT VISION

In their monthly routine meeting, Greek and Turkish Cypriot political parties had decided to support the two leaders within accordance to their previously announced joint vision. Within the meeting which was hosted by the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) at the Ledra Palace Hotel which is situated within the buffer zone of Nicosia , CTP President Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer reiterated that for comprehensive negotiations directed in achieving a solution, a target date must be previously determined. The joint statement produced from the meeting which was read by the Slovakian Ambassador Anna Turenicova whom organized the Ledra Palace meetings stated, “The political parties will provide their support to the two leaders in acquiring an early solution within accordance to the foundations determined from the March 21 and May 23 summits.”


GREEK CYPRIOT SABOTAGE TO TURKISH TV CHANNELS

The Greek Cypriot administration prevented the display of the Turkish channels ATV, NTV and ART by situating stronger signals upon their frequencies. Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer stated that if the Greek Cypriot administration does not refrain from their Frequency assault, they will similarly reply with stronger signals.


CROATION PRESIDENT: “I BELIEVE THAT NEGOTIATIONS BETWEEN THE TWO SIDES WILL BRING POSITIVE DEVELOPMENTS”
Croatian President Stjepan Mesic reiterated his belief that positive outcomes will result from the continuation of negotiations of the Cyprus issue. In his joint press conference after completing his meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gül, Croatian President Stjepan Mesic commented on Turkey ’s EU membership negotiations and stated, “ Turkey is not entirely to blame for the slow progress of its membership negotiations. Turkey is a part of Europe and is a nation to take its part in Europe .”
