From my friend David Usupashvili, Leader of the Republican Party:
"It is obvious that despite liberation from colonialism and totalitarianism, Georgian citizens have not obtained liberty at all. The next and final target in this direction is to liberate citizens from a postcommunism whose surface is heavily painted with democratic colors, but whose body remains "classic Soveticus". In the Georgian case, this will inevitably happen in the coming three to five years. The question is what will it cost? Another quarter of our territory or population? I believe the costs could be decreased significantly if everybody who is motivated to help the Georgian people draws the lessons of the past decade. We must teach Georgians more about how to emerge from communism and postcommunism. And only then can we teach them how to live in a democracy."
